Although growing up thousands of miles apart (Bryan in Hawaii and Marcy in Connecticut), their musical roots intertwine in the love and protest songs of their 1960's childhoods. Bryan and Marcy songs span a variety of subjects -- love of the Earth, love for each other, love of life in all of its manifestation, and peace and economic justice.
The folk duo of Bryan & Marcy - usually accompanied by one or two heavy
duty, kick ass blues guitarists - along with an equally outrageous
saxophonist, have brought a colorful mix of folk, blues, activism,
awareness, compassion, peace and love to audiences throughout the Downtown
Scene. Evoking memories of a sometimes more gentler world, but a world
threatened by war and madness - Bryan and Marcy bring a flavor of the
dramatic protests songs from the 1960's into the present and sometimes bring
the present back into the 1960's. To listen to the music of Bryan and Marcy
is to take a journey - a journey into gentleness, awareness, but also a
journey into the sometimes harsh realities of the new millennium - along
with an occasional look at how we might all come together to heal ourselves
and the world.
