For almost a year now, the four-piece band Bonfire has been sessioning at cafes, schools, and other stages in the Sacramento area. With their strong local fan base, they have been able to get their debut CD, “The Livins Easy” distributed to many different crowds, ranging from kids to even school teachers. Just walk the hallways of the high schools that the band attended and you will hear their CD being played on the quad at lunch and even in classrooms. Influenced by bands like Jack Johnson, G Love and Special Sauce, and the Dave Matthews Band, Bonfire takes the best of all those music styles and fuses it with their own to make music that is like nothing you have ever heard before. “The Livins Easy” contains 5 songs, including the fan favorite love song “Caught In A Net” and the title track “Livins Easy” With the sound of ocean waves opening up their first track, “My Little Cousin” they set you in a mood to relax and enjoy the music. Along with their catchy acoustic guitar riffs and lyrics, Bonfire’s music has a well-rounded sound with solid bass lines and drum beats, and the occasional congas and djembe. “The Livins Easy” is the perfect soundtrack for a trip to Santa Cruz, which, coincidently is another one of their songs. However, the only way to hear “Santa Cruz” and many of their other fan favorite songs you have to catch Bonfire live at a concert, because they have many new songs that did not make the first CD. But there is a second album currently being recorded, so expect to hear more great new music from Bonfire within the next few months. Until then, check out their website at www.bonfiremusic.4t.com to get the latest show dates and times.
