Although the effects of global warming, or a one world government are uncertain, the influences on futurecast and its music are as equally widespread. Austin, the band’s lead singer and predominant songwriter, brings the raw voice of small town USA with a heart and an ear for music like cutting edge songwriters Jeff Tweedy and Ryan Adams. Scoop’s deep appreciation for musical genius and his indie rock intuition gives futurecast’s music a depth that cannot be overlooked or done without. With his punk rock spirit and classical piano upbringing, Justin’s energy and dynamism are unmatched, making futurecast songs among those one cannot get out of one’s head. And Wes…Wes is the pure, clean sound that gives the music a backbone and a synergy, keeping the band’s diversity from becoming chaotic at times. The amalgamation of Scoop’s All Save One, Justin’s Goodside, and Austin Arnold’s solo project creates a sound unique to the band, who won’t be sliding off the map any time soon. Not really country but not quite rock, the alt country sound is distinctly futurecast, and is sure to draw listeners from musical backgrounds as various as its own.
