The Belly Gods are an all original rock band hailing from Birmingham, Alabama. Their music is heavily influenced by bands such as Led Zeppelin, STP and ZZ Top just to name a few. James and Tony have been playing together since high school in various outfits, most recently Blindman's Holiday, and Searching for Ground. Brian joined Blindman's Holiday in 1996 along with then drummer Steve Ranelli on drums and James on guitar. Steve left the band in 1997 and Corey McGraw was recruited and the name was changed to Searching for Ground which played in the local circuits until 2000 when the group disbanded. James recruited Tony and Brian again in 2004, but with himself now on drums instead of guitar. It was a totally new sound for the band and songwriting flourishes again.
