There was a time, long past now, where stories were used to frighten young children when they behaved mischievous. Stories of horror, of monsters and the like.
One such story had one such monster, the Manticore.
The Manticore would take you away for its evening meal if you weren’t acting the way you were supposed to, consuming your soul and spirit with it.
As men, women and children feared the ancient creature to unleash its anger and malcontent against humanity. Mantikhoras seeks to express their emotions in unleashing their music.
Formed in Alkmaar in the year 2002, Mantikhoras makes a blend of several music styles in completion of their compositions. Inspired by lifetime facts as misunderstanding, loss of love or even suicide, the mixture can best be described as rock/metal with symphonic influences.

The inspiration also finds the way to lyrical expression as the same emotional themes are put into words. Considering the fact that the vocal lines of sadness are metaphors for actual events, Mantikhoras bring their lyrics with relative ease.
Riffs made of anger; licks made of tears and a seemingly unstoppable drumbeat which pounds to bring the band back into life.
The beast has awoken once more, only to let itself be known to many as the inevitable flood of emotions crashes home into the minds of those who don’t expect.
