.Junta. has become an act of rational selfishness in the lives of its current members. Through hard work they have learned that it has become self-sustaining. Remaining dedicated to their self preservation as a creative entity holds it’s up most importance to the band. .Junta.’s incarnation occurred sometime in 1996, and since then they have remained dedicated to its self preservation. The two original members, Chris Paris (guitar) and Ian McCartney (guitar), have remained ardently dedicated to the music of .Junta. After several line up changes Dave Eisenberg-drums, Mike Braverman-vocals and Chris and Ian filling on Bass), the band then acquired Alex Reiter on vocals and Mike Oquendo on drums and has since solidified its parts into a congruent whole with the latest addition to the band Juan Soaz on bass.
After regularly playing weekend shows in MA, CT, NY, NJ and a mini-tour along the east coast, .Junta. went back into the studio May of 2005. .Junta. arrived at Trax East Studios (God Forbid, Hatebreed, Dillenger Escape Plan) to create a tight 4-song ep consisting of their most recent material. After over 4 months of recording, mixing and listening, .Junta. has emerged from Trax East and will soon be releasing their latest conception.
