Resisting Tension started in April of 2005 after brothers Tyler Blaut (drums) and Vince Zanzucchi (guitar) were tired of the unsuccessful direction that their other seperate projects were going. The brothers decided to put together a series of songs just to see where it would take them. It ended up taking them to decide the next step was finding a solid vocalist. Vince's most recent band, that had fallen through, had also left available singer/songwriter Brad Lee. Thoroughly impressed with Brad's talent and drive Tyler and Vince asked Brad to join. Brad was skeptic of the style until he was convinced by the energy of an Unearth concert that the brothers took him to. The final piece of Resisting Tension was completed with the addition of long time friend Shane Nelson (Bass), who had the fun loving, selfless and energetic stage pressence that the band needed.

Resisting Tension was barely complete as a band, however, due to the writing intensity of the brothers Tyler and Vince, they were 7 songs strong musically before they even had a practice as a full band. The band was formed for a mere 3 weeks before being asked to open for fellow Arizona band The Gone. Resisting Tension had a weeks notice before the show but gladly accepted. The foursome went into the show, only having 2 practices as a full band, and took the venue by storm by unleashing an hour and 30 minutes of up-tempo Progressive Metal music. A set that singer Brad Lee skillfully and amazingly improved through the originals and majestically performed with stage influence matched by few others.

After that show, the band knew they had something special and needed to run with it. Since then the band has been performing shows and writing and recording in the studio. Constantly pushing their own bounderies and comfort zones to push Resisting Tension into a sound and idea which no other band has gone before.

Resisting Tension is scheduled to enter into Phase 4 studios (where bands such as Dream Theater and Megadeth have recorded) in Tempe, Arizona where they will record their debut full length 11 song album Reinvention of Revenge, which will feature songs from their current demo The Cycle, Within Moments and Fury of the Conquered. They are currently looking for a label to release the cd through.
