The Band hails from the Aberdeen area of Harford County Maryland. It was formed in November of '04 and was completed in December of '04 with the addition of Brian. On guitar, there is Brian Smith (aka. Ziggy, Brizzle, Ziggmiester, Brizzian). He is a jack of all trades and meddles with a bit of everything including drums and computer music. Brian is quiet and reserved, a musical genius with every evolving style... plus the kid can shred! On Bass, is Ryan Plunkett. He recently moved to Stewartstown, PA and still comes to practice twice a week(what a trooper!). Ryan's scathing sarcasm is only matched by his equally as scathing intelligence. His captivating bass lines will literally give you chills. Ryan keeps the band on track with what needs to be accomplished. On the Drums, we have Tony Marley. Tony plays fast and technical rhythms with a serious kick ass double bass. The man has a giant drum kit and utilizes every last piece of his set. Tony is hardworking, yet comedic. He is the stress reliever if practice gets too tough, usually being the first one to cheer everyone up. Tony also helps write lyrics and has strong vocals to back them up. That of course brings us to singer, Justin Severn, who has been called "one of the best vocalists in Maryland." His sound is dynamic and brutally ear piercing as well. Justin writes some of the most sincere lyrics on the local scene today. His range covers anywhere from deep pitched growls to everlasting, high pitched screams. Justin is hysterical and sensitive, not to mention a natural born leader, who strives to resolve any and all conflicts within the group. He is the prefect front man and gets any crowd in front of him pumped. Overall, Anubis is a phenomenal group of well rounded and talented musicians. Drawing influences from such greats as Pantera, Lamb of God, Metallica, and Unearth, Anubis comes out on top with a sound all their own. What one can expect to see at an Anubis show? High energy. A huge pit. And crowd control at it's best. Anubis would be honored if you would come out to see a show. On top of all that, they're a nice bunch of guys, so don't be afraid to go talk to them, they love it!
