Medicated Kisses is a five-piece rock band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in the late fall of 2004, a wide variety of musical backgrounds came together to produce the sound they possess. Drawing on their previous experiences in the local music scenes in Pennsylvania, Vermont, and New York, they have come together to try a little something different. Having learned how to aggressively promote their music and image while keeping their noses to the grindstone, MK has had a momentous beginning. Their music draws heavily from influences of all veins of rock, but with each one, an innovative twist. While the music can be brutally intense, it is always balanced out by soulful vocals and occasional screams of agony and angst. A female vocal styling in a typically male-dominated genre creates a unique blend that is the MK signature sound. While most female fronted bands work to contrast the two genders in rock music and exploit femininity, Alanna V., works equally as hard to break through those barriers and stereotypes, bringing a live show that most guys couldnt keep up with. Swirling around Alannas vocal power is the firm threshold the MK rhythm section has built. Chuck and Ryan, meeting when the band formed, studied each others methods and sounds and have formed and amazing musical bond through their guitars. The drum and bass grooves added by Sal and Aaron keep everything interesting: switching up the rhythm and time signatures, yet never losing the audience attention.
