What started out as a drinking conversation amongst a group of friends in San Francisco soon turned to a bonafied rock band when Keala and his friends fantasized of being in a band though no one could play instruments. Considering it was the dot-com era when yuppies were excelling and the middle and lower class kids/college students like themselves were sinking it was obvious a name like "the Nervous Breakdowns" was the best bet.
Keala studied guitar intensely giving up many weekends to lock himself in the bathroom (for the acoustics and privacy). He emerges from that bathroom years later with a real band and all the songs he worked on. First crashing the streets with nothing but a need to play out the NB's were notorious for theif lack of invitation at street fairs and outdoor events. After a "real" show and raving reviews the NB's decided to take on these so called "real" shows and play stages but keeping their raw sound of the street and the energy they were so famous for. San Franciso today and the streets of the world tomorow, beware.
