Avian e il loro Emo Grunge

Avian is a four-man Grunge/Rock band that combines solid rock music with funky grooves and more subtle parts that have been compared with bands like Radiohead and Pearl Jam. Other influences are Incubus, Foo Fighters and Dutch groups like Green Lizard and Face Tomorrow. The result is a very melodic sound with a melancholy ring to it. Despite that singer Steve rather speaks of "no bullshit, just great rock music". Avian is also known for their energetic live shows, that always gets the crowd moving.

This show was practiced for a lot (also using the former name Nuclear Waste). They have played numerous gigs; at regional festivals (Cult&Tumult, Welons Festival, Kabaal&Verbaal) as a warming up for bands like Intwine. The band did also perform together with a lot of bands like Judasville, Ten Seconds Down and Left, at venue’s like 013 in Tilburg, Jerry’s Music Café in hometown Veldhoven, and other venues and cafés from Hoorn in the very north of Holland to Roggel in the very south.

Avian was formally better known as Nuclear Waste, which was a punk band that developed its own sound through the years. The band first got together to perform at a performance night from their high school. After that they just stuck together because they noticed they had that world-famous ‘click’. The musical style has changed so much they had to overview the complete band. This resulted in a change of name and a complete style changeover. Ever since this changes the band has been even more ambitious and has made a lot of progress in their plans.
