Chris Campbell and Jesse Ladner met as freshmen at the U of Rochester along the banks of the Genesee (the name sake of Genny & Genny Lite) and forged a friendship based on a love of Sunny Day Real Estate. Their dorm room musical experiments were ever a detriment to the studies of those who lived nearby. While working in the WRUR recording studio they met classmate Akshay Yeshokumar. The allowance for noise complaints was rapidly and deliberately consumed. They played a handful of shows around Rochester (the pinnacle of this R-town experience was opening for The Intima at the Bug Jar) before graduating and moving to Boston in the fall of 2003. While remaining out of sight, sonic alchemy has continued. Sounds are now ready to be dragged squinting into the light.
