hankfully, there’s still some raw and pure talent still coming with that ‘bare-knuckled real,’ and one of the true soldiers remaining is the Bronx-bred rapper, T.w.o.-G. Whilst most mainstream radio rappers hold on to ‘Tony Montana’ fantasies, and continuously trade their souls for that one cross-over hit, this 28-yr old takes it back to the essence with ill tracks (the rapper actually chefs his own beats), dope flows, and original concepts.

The eloquent NYC-emcee characterizes his music as “street gospel with curses,” - a description that takes on full meaning once you soak in a cross-section of his material. For example, on “Mediocre,” a smooth, jazzed-up, bass-heavy joint, T.w.o.-G.’s determination to rise above normalcy is immediately apparent when he spits lines like: “The answer lies within me / To rise above mere mediocrity.” Elsewhere on the same track, T.w.o.-G. delivers rousing street-sermons to cats caught up in the ghetto matrix with darts like: “We must increase our trust fund / and get apartments over looking the Henry Hudson.”

Another standout on the rapper’s demo is “Down The Block From Freedom” – an intricate hip-hop tome that merges poignant narratives and inspirational themes over another exceptional, neck-snapping beat.

With this emcee, one finds a true rarity: the complete package. T.w.o.-G. possesses skills behind the boards, spits venom on the mic, and has originality and creativity for days. “My aim is to provide the world with a new style of Hip Hop that showcases the ‘real me’ – flaws and everything,” the all-round threat states. “Those rappers who can’t keep up with that will be forced to quit rapping,” he continues. His talent and potential are so abundant that it’s just a matter of time before he gets his due. As far as his ultimate design for the game, the rapper philosophizes with a humility that shows both his maturity and steady focus. “When God opens that door for me, I will know that it is my time,” he readily states. “Until then, I’ll just keep on making the music I love to make.” So stay tuned, the name T.w.o.-G. is going to be one you’ll be mentioning a lot in the very near future.
