*****THE WHEELCHAIR RENEGADES****************

The Wheelchair Renegades are a rock and roll band from Corvallis, Oregon. Tim Reed (guitar/vocals), Chad Lahr (bass/vocals), and Adam Brown (drums) have been playing with their current lineup for the past 2 years, entertaining audiences all over Oregon, in the cities of Corvallis, Florence, Lebanon, Albany, Eugene, Independence, Salem, and numerous shows in Portland, including opening for national act Falling Up. They recently went on a self-booked, tour in California through Chico, Madera, Oakland, Ventura, Modesto, and San Francisco where they encountered approving crowds and pleased venue owners, soundmen, and show promoters, one of whom, gave them the opportunity to appear on the major San Francisco radio station LIVE 105.3.
This talented 3 piece band incorporates a spin on modern rock and roll, with chorus’s that jump out in your face, technical vocal harmonies, awesome guitar riffs, shredding bass lines, and simply incredible drums. Drawing major influence from bands like The Matches, Blink 182, Less Than Jake, Van Halen, Five Iron Frenzy, and Ben Folds, the band works together to craft creative, original songs.
The Wheelchair Renegades have an energetic live show which incorporates the crowd and evokes compliments from even anti-“pop punk” advocates. Unlike many bands, The Wheelchair Renegades respectful behavior on and off the stage has befriended many Oregon bands including Falling Up, One Point Star, Paint by Numbers, Midnight Violation, Four Days Yesterday, and The Sweater Club; and out of state bands including Dexter Danger, Sloppy Meateaters, My Former Self, Roundabout, The Turnout, Forthmorning, Fairwell Madison, and No Avail. They have been repeatedly complimented on their courtesy and assistance to venues, owners, and other bands. WR has had multiple opportunities open up due to their consideration and flexibility.
Living in a small college town the group has always struggled with a poor local music scene and often times had to create the scene themselves. This includes setting up a venue in their garage for both local and touring acts. Also, WR has paved the way for bands out of local high schools to play shows in the area. In certain situations they have ended up running sound or managing, otherwise, poorly organized shows because local artists look up to their leadership.
This band has a passion for music performance which comes out in their live show. Whether playing for 5 or 500 people, their effort, desire to play, and easy going attitude create an amazing environment that no can deny is incredible. As you watch them go crazy onstage it will reveal an underlying, and unconditional love for their music.
