By February, 2005, the band had released their first album: the "Lost Souls EP".From such promising beginnings, the band quickly grew to be a crowd favorite at shows of all sizes, and they have taken the stage at venues including The Hard Rock Cafe (Boston, MA), The Alehouse (Portland, ME), The Camden Opera House (Camden, ME), and at events including the Lobster Festival (Rockland, ME) and Bumstock (University of Maine, Orono). The Murder Weapon has been heralded as a fresh and exciting sound and has been a consistent hi-energy crowd pleaser at shows of all genres. The band has been well received by fans of punk, metal, rock and reggae alike. The Bangor Daily News stated:
"The Murder Weapon's skillful, distinctive playing style, combined with its hot-rods-and-zombies aesthetic, cements it as a band apart from other groups playing in Maine."
