Around March 2004 Roald and Jochem decide to start a band. They named the band M.A.D. which stands for Mutual Assured Destruction. Unfortunately they had a hard time getting others metalheads to join the band. Finally Roald and Jochem decided to go separate ways. Roald then approached Michiel and asked him to be the singer of the band. Soon they changed the band's name into Mindscarred. Laurens and Tiemen were approached to play bass and drums. It was around the beginning of September that Mindscarred really started to become a band. After a few months of practice the first gigs were played at several places in the region. Times were good by doing support shows with local heroes as Daytona Super Six, Encircled, Chillburn, Mur-dog, Latern Poll and various others. Around March the next year Laurens and Tiemen left the band. However, Mindscarred wasn't ready to die yet so it was then that Jochem was approached again to do the job on the battery. After seeing one Mindscarred gig he was sold and couldn't wait to get back on the nest. The low ends became the task of Frans. Due to the fact that all band members have different interests and musical backgrounds we were able to create an original, agressive metalcore sound.
