Timelaps was formed in September, 2003, as Mike Berkey and Jeff Remis began their freshman year at Tufts University in Medford, MA. At the beginning of their freshman orientation, Mike and Jeff met and immediately started jamming together. As they lived in the same dorm, they were able to practice almost everyday and play covers ranging from Dave Matthews Band, to the Beatles, and the Foo Fighters. After going through numerous lineup changes for a full band during their freshman year, Mike and Jeff decided for just the two of them to play acoustic sets at their spring semester gigs. Sophomore year came for Mike and Jeff sooner than they knew it, and it was time to start practicing/playing shows again. However, last year, an added plus came to the band; lead guitarist and Tufts freshman, Dan Sammartano. While performing as a trio, Timelaps recorded their debut album entitled "The Premium Blend", moved forward by playing shows on campus as well as off. Timelaps in the fall of 2005 and into 2006 has just expanded to a full rock/jam band by adding Tufts sophomore drummer Gabe Wilson and Tufts sophomore bassist Jake Brotter.
