2003: A LIMINE is born in San José, Costa Rica. Alejandro, Gabriel, Carlos Flores and Jorge Espinoza get together for a concert in Teatro Skené. Jorge played with A LIMINE before at Café Expresivo. The first name of the project was Allan Smithee, but as it gained strength, it started to become A LIMINE. After the concert on Teatro Skené, the recording for Catarsis (the first album of the band) was made. As an underground album, was well received by the followers of A LIMINE, and it featured songs like Andanza, Nocturno and Un paso al frente. After the release of Catarsis, Alejandro and Gabriel joined efforts with Emanuel (drums), who brought a series of latin rythms and a rich energy to the concept of A Limine. Songs like Grito, Desde el umbral, and Alevosía were created with Emanuel. At the end of the year, Alejandro and Gabriel travel to the United States of America, leaving Emanuel in Costa Rica. 2004: A LIMINE meets Walter Romeo, the owner of Studio 1515, a cofeehouse in Ybor City who becomes the manager and temporary drummer of A LIMINE. With Walter, the first live CD of the band was made on The Masquerade. After looking around for a while, A LIMINE finds Daniel D'Imperio, their current drummer. Daniel brings a heavier sound to the band as well as a more ellaborate conception of the music itself. 2005: A LIMINE starts the recording of their third CD, with songs both in english and spanish and a more complete sense of comunication. With now three cds to their colletion, A Limine starts booking concerts locally to raise funds for their studio remastered.
