Pure Genius was formed in the spring of 2003. The founding members sought to create a type of music that all patrons could enjoy, combining such musical elements as jazz, rock, funk, ska, hip-hop, and occasionally a hint of country. Since it’s inception, the band has had several members come and go, but the current lineup has been playing together for almost two years. Pure Genius has played several shows at The Ridglea Theater, The Galaxy Club, The Aardvark, The Inferno, Fat Daddy's, and several other musical venues. The band was named best group performance and received the people’s choice award at the 2004 University of Texas at Arlington talent show. The band plays every Tuesday night at Rack Daddy's in North Arlington on Collins St. from around 10pm till 2am. Look for Pure Genius at a local venue near you soon and listen for them on your local radio stations.
