NOTIZIE PRINCIPALI
General Boy is Austin’s undergroundest hard pop group. General Boy was born in October 1995, got rhythm in 1998, and has been shaking basement walls ever since. Fronted by the inexplicable harmony vocals of twin geeks Rick Fordyce (guitar) and Kurt Huffman (bass) and powered by the loudest drummer this side of Los Alamos, Terry Lynch, General Boy plays real songs about real life that you haven’t heard before. It's Akron '77 meets London '63: half twisted, half twist. Topics include TV, love, sandpaper, banks.

Rick Fordyce: Epistemologist and lyric culprit, Rick put Kurt’s life into songs to save Kurt the trouble of doing it himself. Doesn’t understand why bandmates prefer the next generation or why they see [fill in the blank] as being punker than Zimmerman in any respect.

Kurt Huffman: Etymologist, entymologist, and the ornithologist who can fix your car, Kurt travels miles while standing still. Doesn’t understand why bandmates walk around so much or why Black Sabbath isn’t played in elevators.

Terry Lynch: Memphysicist, meaterologist, mnemoniker and resident obtutiary, Terry makes typical timekeep look like afternoon nap. Was disappointed when the Super Bass-O-Matic '76 he won on eBay turned out to be a fish blender and not a vintage rhythm section enhancement device. Will demand a picture next time.

General Boy is the flagship artist of Oober, Inc. and has played under former names at SXSW, Room 710, Red Eyed Fly, the Hole in the Wall, Maggie Mae's, Ruta Maya International Headquarters, and Steve Moore’s house. Dancing and cheering have occurred. General Boy's recordings have received airplay under former names on BBC Radio One and Austin’s KOOP Radio. General Boy will release its debut album, The Ak Ak of Love, in 2006. Produced by Brian Beattie (Daniel Johnston, Okkervil River, Kathy McCarty, Glass Eye), the album has two sides and is not too long.
