For Olde York's influences, think Sick Of It All, Murphy's Law, Agnostic Front, Cocksparrer, The Business, Anal Cunt, and Sheer Terror.
On guitar, and the youngest member of the band, is Blake Sabbath, who’s lacerating guitar sound is the first strike assault of the band. Anchoring the band’s sound TS-1 on the bass. The former frontman for legendary CT Hardcore outfit BiG MiSTAKE moves into his new position as bassist easily, combining gut wrenching bass chords and heavily grooved riffs that leave a river of sweat-wracked bodies in the band’s wake. Brother to Blakey Sabbath, DEV, joins the Olde York ranks to bash the drums to a bloody pulp. With a thunderous kick to the gut and ear shattering smack to the head, he lays down the driving force behind the bands unceasing locomotion. Filling out the lineup, Insane Fight frontman Eddie "E-Man" Smith, is the mouthpiece of the band, shouting his vengeful message at full volume, rough as a pit-bull, companionate as a Buddhist monk, his insightful, introspective, and deeply personal lyrics create a sonic painting about a life many of us out there are all too familiar with, working a job you hate, living in NYC, find a way to keep it going, just one more day.
Just a note about the current state of hardcore and the influences that are now surrounding it: Olde York does not support gangs or gang violence in the scene in any way, shape or form...violence is the last act of a desperate man, and the enemy of rational thought. There are too many of them and too few of us to waste time destroying each other from within. Save it for the class war. "When shit goes down, no ones around, just you and him, no way he'll win. I can turn my back, don't need to fight, my edge on him, is my IN-SIGHT!" - Wide Awake, 1988, as true today as it was then...
STAY POSI! STAY STRONG!
Life is hard, don't wear blinders to it, but don't let it turn you negative...if you do, they win...
