The One is the 1st Father and kid Alternative Band. Their Alternative sound is from bringing two generations of great music together, Punk and Fusion. Roc the father, started out as a Fusion drummer in his native city Baltimore. He attended and studied Percussion at The Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and Film Scoring in Berklee College of Music in Boston. “The kids had been playing around with some of the instruments in the studio, but it wasn’t until my wife and I brought them professional gear one Christmas morning. By 9 ‘O clock a.m. we were playing a Chick Corea composition. Right then I knew that I had finally found my Band, thus The One was created.” Their influences are: Return To Forever, Frank Zappa, System of the Down, Green Day, Prince and The Revelation, Rage against the Machine, James Horner, Cheville and Leonard Bernstein just to name a few. “We want to bring great music that the radio broadcasters will want to play without compromising what real music is all about….being creative!
