Fate brought The Head Change together in Ohio in the summer of 1997. Fueled by original music that professed stories of life and re-connecting with nature, the band road the carpet of karma to Nashville, TN where they recorded their first album at Gene Breeden Studios located in the United Artists building on the infamous Music Row.
With the new album in tote The Head Change quickly sold all 1,000 copies pressed of the album and began a furious schedule of regional touring. The band’s following grew upon the wave of spirit filled improvisational jams and songs of communing with the Earth. The band also began producing their own outdoor festivals which grossed in the $5000 range on average.
After 4 years of regional touring success the guys took a two year break to explore the country for new song ideas and inspirations for a new tour.
The Head Change went back into the studio in the summer of 2004. Producing an EP of emotionally charged earth rock jams, the band has begun to draw attention again. They are currently preparing for a series of national tours for 2005-2006 that will create a tribal experience where ever they go. The band makes all of its merchandise by hand from deer antler guitar stands to t-shirts to simple beaded necklaces. Whether experiencing the parking lot theatrics prior to the show or dancing to the cosmic jams inside, each show The Head Change performs is an experience not to be missed.
