Cubehead was found in the fall of 2002, when guitarist Harri Hytönen (ex-Gandalf) decided to form a new band with bass player Mikko Mäkelä (Rivendell) and his brother Otto Mäkelä. The goal was to make simple but heavy-kind-of-rock music with good melodies and groove. They tried a couple of singers and found a perfect man for the job, Jens Kirkland.

The year 2003 went on while making new material for the band and finally in the beginning of the year 2004 they had their first gig in Factory, Helsinki. In February Cubehead recorded and mixed their first demo with four songs.
