    TOP STORIES
Gold Coast four-piece, StoneMason, are set to hit the road in October and November in support of the band’s new EP release titled ‘Noise and Haste’.

The five-track EP demonstrates a unique mix of fast-paced indie rock, synth-laden pop punk and piano driven balladry for the band. Recorded and mixed by Luke Palmer, ‘Out, Damned Spots’ mixed by Matt Bartlem (The Butterfly Effect, Dead Letter Circus) and all tracks mastered by Troy Glessner (Underoath, Anberlin, Haste The Day), the EP features the infectious first single ‘Stockholm Fashion’ is a track about being inspired.

“To some extent everything we do is motivated by some form of inspiration. To be surrounded featureless, insipid people would only encourage you to become similar.” explains guitarist John Beynon.

“It is about wanting people everywhere to become a muse, to want to be inspired themselves. Moments, lives, the entire world can be changed by a single inspired person. All it takes is a wanting to become change. Hopefully people will see the message in this song and connect with it”.

The band, whose name derives from a keen interest in geology, formed in 2005 led by Phoebe Parkinson, 17, on vocals and keyboard; John Beynon, 18, on guitar; Thomas Stevens, 19, on bass guitar; and Joel Crapper, 18, on drums. All members are current or former students of All Saints Anglican School along with other famous alumni such as Taylor Henderson (Operator Please), George Carpenter (Mourning Tide), and Elliot Hammond (Amy Meredith).

StoneMason’s sound incorporates a unique variety of influences including Blink 182, Bloc Party, The Beatles and Taking Back Sunday, and as a result, this band has a diverse repertoire spanning several genres, all of which make for a dynamic and unique live show.

“Our live show is a fun, energetic performance which people can and should participate in as we really feed off our audience,” says bassist Thomas Stevens. “Because of the diverse range of songs on our setlist, fans should come to our show expecting to mosh, slow dance and sing along”.
