    TOP STORIES
Style: AOR / MOR (folk / Celtic with a rock’n’roll edge)

Born: West Kilbride, Scotland. Currently operating out of downtown Toronto, Canada.

Description: The Project’s material is based primarily on folk music stylings. Influences from traditional Celtic music and classic rock’n’roll can be identified throughout the song catalog. Stirring melodies and layered vocal harmonies comprise the general texture of the project’s sound.

History: During the early to mid 1990’s, Laurence Roscoe was the front man vocalist and guitarist for several small southern Ontario bands until 1995 when he joined forces with eight piece Canadian funk band “Congress”. Based out of Georgetown, Ontario, Congress moved on to open for established recording artists and headline local festivals while touring Ontario.

After parting ways with Congress, Roscoe founded and began solely operating “Renaissance Sound Studios” out of downtown Toronto, Canada. As recording engineer and producer, Laurence would go on to produce several artists’ recording projects and various commercial advertisements.

1997 brought Laurence back to performing live as he lent his guitar and vocal skills to Toronto based Brit-pop band “Speed Orchid”. He then went on to fill a temporary bass player position with Toronto based Ska band “Spinecracker”, formerly “Skaface”.

After several small endeavors, Laurence hooked up with childhood friend / guitar teacher Jeff Getty. With the accompaniment of percussionist Mike Churchill, the “Jeff Getty Band” was formed. As bass player and backing vocalist, Roscoe and the “Jeff Getty Band” have completed 2 albums in addition to headlining major venues, television appearances, and opening for the likes of Colin James and Sue Foley.

Present: Throughout the years of performing with various acts, Laurence has compiled his songwriting achievements in order to complete “Paradox”, the debut CD for his own “Roscoe Project”. As the sole songwriter, engineer, and producer, Laurence is currently in the process of completing the material for his second full length CD titled “Tick”. The project is currently playing venues & festivals throughout Southern Ontario and shopping to major labels. The latest developments for the project have been CBC Radio picking up our debut CD “Paradox” for nation wide airplay on the entire CBC Radio Network, a publishing contract, and our CD Release and regular appearances at the new Hard Rock Café / Club 279 (Yonge & Dundas, Toronto).
