    TOP STORIES
Formed during October of 2007, ‘Funk In Public’ was an idea spawned by Anthony Devine and David
Wilkinson, two mates who have been jamming and playing in bands together since 2004. The premise was to
make a band that brought together all their influences in Funk, Jazz, Blues, Hip-Hop and Alternative. Within weeks
Travis Percy joined playing rhythm and lead guitar which helped complete the grounding for Funk In Public. Soon
after, Lady Lash (Crystal Mastrosavas) joined to provide vocals to the mix. Finally, having known Jeremy Blamey
for some years, Dave recruited his talent to add Saxophone and Keyboard to complete the sound of Funk In
    Public.
Funk In Public are based in Melbourne, Victoria, and their style is a mixture of Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Alternative
and Hip-Hop. The goal of the band is to play dynamic and accurate music, while keeping the focus on live energy
and enjoyment. They have recently completed recording their first EP release after several sessions at Three
Phase studios and are planning a launch later in the year. They have thus far been featured on ‘NoiseTV’
(December, 2007), Mp3.com.au, Triple J Unearthed, Uncharted.com.au, and are scheduled for numerous
upcoming shows and festivals locally in Melbourne, and around Australia.
