    TOP STORIES
ROOM 4.09 is an acoustic band based in Melbourne. The band consists of Ben Roberts on lead guitar, backup vocals and percussion, and Simon Basey on guitar, lead vocals, and keyboards. Rob Lachlan will be playing bass for the Emergenza festival. They have many diverse sounds and influences from rock to reggae, indie to Irish, and Flamenco to funk.

Live, ROOM 4.09 is very energetic and entertaining.

Ben and Simon met on Hamilton Island, Queensland. They lived together in Harbour View staff accommodation Room 4.09. They share the same Birthday, middle name, and a passion for music. On the island they played regular successful gigs. They soon realised the island was too small for their musical ambitions. In May 2007, they left the island and recorded a demo CD at Simon's home studio in the Adelaide Hills and soon after moved to Melbourne.

ROOM 4.09 has played regularly at many venues in Melbourne in the few short months they have lived there. They also had a 10 day tour of Hamilton Island playing 8 three hour sets during AUDI Race Week 2007.

Ben has been in Hard Rock and metal bands since high school. This has helped him develop his diverse and dexterous approach to acoustic music. Simon has been in two rock bands and been writing and studying music from a very early age. Their unique and different musical backgrounds have helped ROOM 4.09 create a sound of their own
