Having started recording campfire sing-a-long style songs to tease and charm their friends through a headset microphone in late 2007, The Jeff Chinky Fan Club now creates some of the most exciting cross-breed sounds in Sydney’s indie-pop scene. Fusing bluesy guitar rhythms with heavier minor flavours, mixed with the driving force of Elliot Norris’ syncopated rock beats and Bassy Bizzle’s sometimes sweet melodic vocals and, at other times, more energetic and playful staccato, The Jeff Chinky Fan Club embodies many of the artistic colours that have painted the cultural melting pot of Sydney metropolis for the past half century. A classic 4-piece, The Jeff Chinky Fan Club is VOCALS: Bas McGrath, who has been cultivating a surplus of facial hair from the tender age of 9, BASS: Josh Bishop, he’s pretty fly for a white guy, GUITAR: Harry Lim, nicknamed “superhustler,” who is ripped like Rambo and whose favourite chupa-chup flavour is no flavour at all because lollipops rot your teeth and DRUMS: Elliot Norris, he plays drums.
