    Meet the Middle Eight. This NYC-based indie/pop/rock band just released their first CD, Unwind.

    With a sound awash in influences ranging from Beck, Wilco and Radiohead to the Beatles, the Middle Eight’s music is destined to find a home on many iPod playlists.

    Unwind features the band’s award-winning track “Everyone is an addict” – named track of the day and most original pop/rock song at garageband.com – and 10 other cuts that that bring a pop sensibility to an array of genres.

    Lead singer/guitarist Jason Olshan started the band with drummer Tallin Lamonaca in 1999, but everything clicked when the group was joined by guitarist Matt Williamson and bassist Steve Plekan.

    The Middle Eight is named for the British term for a song’s interlude – a London Bridge, if you will.

    The band has played many venues throughout New York City, including Crash Mansion, R & R, The Hook, Kenny's Castaways, Coda, and 169 Bar.
