People who are in the band have one thing in common. And that is the desire to be true members of the world of Rock And Roll music. From Elvis and Little Richard to Lemmy and AC/DC, there’s been a variety of artists who lived this kind of life to the fullest. Onaway members share the belief that Rock And Roll doesn’t die because of it is so honest to its audience, so unquestionably joyful and easy to listen to, it makes you feel good straight away; and that’s why it will survive in any circumstances. It will always be around in some form, be it metal or whatever genre you want to put it in and we’re here to carry its flag so it keeps moving on and on. We want to give every one of you everything we got. We are here for the idea.

Back in 2014, the founder of the band Jeeme and its future bass player Max got together to discuss the direction in which they would go play together. Realizing that their music taste was pretty similar, the boys started jamming on Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple’s classics. Then, they came up with their own riffs for songs, that were about to be written. They felt there was some space for one more guitar that needed to be filled in. Shortly after, Jeffy, the band’s rhythm guitarist, has joined in. Exploring Malcolm Young’s and Rolling Stones’ rhythm works, jamming together for nights, they determined their own style of playing. The mix of good old rocking, adding some young blood on top of it – is the way to describe it. And that’s the story behind the appearance of a loud, high-energy band called “ONAWAY”. Being “on our way” is the meaning of that – on our way to play music for everyone who wants to hear it.

In the summer of 2018 the band performs at The Woodstock Ukraine festival, wins the second place at the Wacken Metal Battle Ukraine and keeps doing many gigs in Kyiv and all over Ukraine as well.

In the winter the same year a new member Lenny joins as the drummer. The band is working on some fresh material and prepares to hit the studio.

2019 starts with passing through the semi-finals at the Emergenza Ukraine and winning first place in May at the Atlas club.
